Wreck-It Ralph Movie Trailer
Have you seen the latest Wreck-It Ralph trailer? Well, guess what?! You can see it here!
Wreck-It Ralph will smash into theaters on November 2nd, and as a mom of two video gaming boys, I can't wait for this release. I had a chance to preview a very rough cut of Wreck-It Ralph when I went to San Fransisco earlier this year and my first thought was that an animated movie about video games was LONG over-due!
I can't wait to take the boys to see this film. It will be fun to meet the new video game characters Disney has created but the nostalgic side of me can't wait to introduce my kids to the first character I ever played as a child... Q'BERT!
Wreck-It Ralph Movie Review:
Over the weekend I took all four kids to see Wreck-It Ralph.
I knew the boys (8 & 9) would be into it, but I didn't know how the girls ( 3 & 4) would do, and it was a hit!
Other than the usual drink requests the kids sat mesmerized by the beautiful landscapes of various arcade games, and colorful characters that made them literally laugh out loud.
Ralph voiced by (John C. Reilly) was an instant favorite because of his lovable characteristics, and his desire to be loved and admired. Kids can relate to both Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz because they are both treated like outcasts and rejected by their peers for reasons beyond their control.
My personal favorite was Sergeant Calhoun (voiced by the hilarious Jane Lynch). I am a fan of everything this woman does, so it doesn't surprise me that she can make me laugh and cry even in animation mode.
Wreck-It Ralph is well-paced, giving the viewer just enough time to feel the emotion of the scene without getting bored with their surroundings. Sometimes animated films are predictable storylines that have been told a thousand times, but I was truly surprised by the ending and what a pleasant surprise that was!
I think the thing about this movie that makes it so refreshing is that it's unlike anything Disney has ever done before. I had never really questioned what video game characters did when the arcade lights went out, and now I know ;).
Wreck-It Ralph Synopsis:
From Walt Disney Animation Studios and Emmy®-winning director, Rich Moore comes “Wreck-It Ralph,” a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping adventure. For decades, Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly) has been overshadowed by Fix-It Felix, Jr. (voice of Jack McBrayer), the good-guy star of their game who always gets to save the day. Tired of playing the role of a bad guy, Ralph takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a journey across the arcade through multiple generations of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.
On his quest, Ralph meets tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch) from the first-person action game Hero’s Duty, and feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman) from the candy-coated cart-racing game Sugar Rush, who may just be his first real friend. But everything changes when a deadly enemy is unleashed, threatening the entire arcade and Vanellope herself. Ralph finally gets his chance to save the day—but can he do it in time? “Wreck-It Ralph” crashes onto the big screen on November 2, 2012, in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theaters.
